Zacklift International has been at the forefront of envisioning and manufacturing the heavy duty underlifts that helped define today’s heavy duty (HDU) towing industry since 1981.
Zacklift International was acquired in 2018 by the Freeborn family. A self-described welder by trade and an engineer by education, Owner Matthew Freeborn has more than 35 years of manufacturing. He’s excited to carry on the Zacklift legacy by continuing to design and develop high quality and durable heavy duty towing equipment.
The idea for Zacklift came about in 1979 when Ed Zackovich began developing the underlift in response to changes in car manufacturing that made traditional methods of towing cars more difficult and less safe. Ed and his small team of innovators prototyped and tested multiple concepts over two years and eventually developed the Zacklift underlift.
By 1982, the very first Zacklift Z5000 underlift sold, establishing Zacklift as the premier U.S. retrofit wheel/frame lift manufacturer. In the decades since, we’ve continued to improve our lift and reach capacities and patent our unique underlift designs, making Zacklift the world leader in heavy-duty detachable towing equipment.
Designed to inform and educate our users before, during and after a Zacklift purchase.
Defining the heavy duty detachable industry since 1981, Zacklift International has been at the fore front of heavy duty under lifts.
